About the Service
Next Steps Early Learning Centre (Next Steps) is an independent childcare service provider in the Geelong region. The Centre sits on 5500sqm of land in a semi-rural setting in Waurn Ponds, and has capacity for156 children, 12 hours each weekday, for 50 weeks of the year.
Our Centre opened in January 2018, and we are now seeking an experienced2IC who can build on the foundations that have been laid, inspire our educators and collaborate with our leadership team.
Your new role
Your role as 2IC is unique and will be varied from day to day. You will be experienced, passionate and dedicated individual, with a strong focus on quality, teamwork, and the drive to develop strong relationships. You will be passionate about developing a creative and inclusive learning environment for our children. Your priority and main focus will be to ensure the highest level of care and educational opportunities are afforded to our children.
You will partner with the Centre Director to mentor, lead and inspire the staff team to achieve their best. You will develop and apply rosters that show continuity of care. You will maintain the daily operational requirements and work alongside our dedicated team to ensure compliance is achieved each day. You naturally strive to build meaningful relationships based on acceptance, trust, integrity and honesty with families, staff and the local community to deliver high quality care.
Requirements for this role
To be successful in the 2IC role at Next Steps Early Learning Centre you will have at least two years’ experience in a 2IC or similar role. A demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of the daily running of the service. You will have good communication skills, with the ability to engage well with children, families, staff, the community.
